Like many of you have been experiencing, our winter here has been snowy and cold. A few days in the 50’s this weekend made me hopeful that spring really is around the corner. Too bad we still have enough snow around to make it hard to even play in the yard with The Boy. Here’s a look at my winter in pictures.
Before winter even started, we had this lovely snow/ice storm in which our garage had a close call with branches from the neighbor’s tree.
While Daddy braved the ice to cut down the branches, The Boy got out his saw and went to work on his car.
Trimming the tree and dancing to some Christmas tunes.
A dusting of snow.
Posing in our Christmas hats made by my grandmother.
Opening a fire truck while wearing fire jammies on Christmas day.
Present excitement!
Never too cold to go pantless.
I have to believe this face is a result of frustration over news of more cold and snow.
A rare snowfree walk downtown.
I think he’s simply given up on ever being able to play in the yard again.
Snowman family!
Found a little patch of grass to ground myself.
The Boy “grounding” himself as best he can when Mommy won’t let him be like her and take his boots off.
Just like it’s never too cold to go pantless, it’s never too cold for some cool shades.
This about sums up how The Boy feels about sleeping in his bed lately.
Lots of snow, but warm enough for some much-needed fresh air and sunshine.

What great pictures, Katie! This is why I live in AZ! Of course, not so fun in the dead of summer!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks, Penny! I always think about moving somewhere warmer, but I have too much family here to move away.
Great pictures.
Spring won’t be long now.
It can’t be.
Can it?
Hi, Tammy! Yes, spring is coming…I think…
Great pictures! The Boy is totally adorable π And we got another foot of snow yesterday. I’m about to throw my hands up and just give up until spring! (Or move back to Cali…hehe!)
Thanks, Meradeth! We’ve got flurries in the forecast for tomorrow. I can at least handle that. I recently asked my husband if his company had an office in southern California! Unfortunately the answer was no. π
The Boy warms your cold days… and ours. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, what a lovely thing to say, Mirka. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Katie, I loved the pics. Your son is adorable.
We are still in a deep-freeze here. I just checked our forecast and can’t believe next week the temps will go down to 13 below zero again. The few mild winters we had kinda made us soft.
Hi, Leona! It’s below freezing her again, but not that cold. Yuck! I seem to remember a bunch of years during my childhood when it felt like we hardly got any snow. We’ve been making up for it the last few years.
Love the range of expressions in the pictures!
And it looks like he’s having a great time despite the weather. I wish I could share some of that simple joy as I contend (or rather don’t) with this especially harsh TO winter.
Thanks, Loren! He’s not a fan of the cold. I usually have to force him (and myself) to go out, but he does have fun once we’re out there.
“Present excitement” is absolutely my favorite picture!!! π Great pictures! Let’s hope the warmth is on the way!!!
That’s one of my favorites, too!
What a sweetie. Love, love, love those pics…except the bare feet by the snow sent chills through my body. BRRRRRRRRR…you are WOMAN!
Adorable! The Boy is getting so big!
